Jon
moved from Sydney, Australia to Hollywood, California in 1990, on the
strength of a Canadian indie recording contract. Making his own opportunities
while waiting for "record execs" to make decisions is what drove
him into the many varied entertainment fields he is associated with, gaining
invaluable experience over the years... enough to forge his own agency/production
company, Egomania Records. "It's all about Forward Momentum: if you
haven't got it, make it... And then there's my Ego to consider..."
In the States, working innumerable keyboard sessions (partial lists below),
styles covering the musical spectrum, from classical piano, to 70's rock
organ, to 80's pop synth, to r&b, funk, rap, country, mainstream,
alternative. As well as band situations, Dunmore also accommodates solo
vocalists, songwriters, weddings, churches, piano students.
An intense showman, Dunmore's keyboards must survive body damage whilst
performing, multiple key replacements and the occasional ritual burning...
Jon Dunmore formative years:
Graduated, Australian Music Examinations Board (AMEB), Piano Practical
& Theory.
Tutoring piano since 18 years old, performing classical piano since 8.
At 17, on the streets in rock bands and never looking back.
Freelance cartooning since 1986.
Toured Australian East Coast and New Zealand extensively with live acts.
