Jason's
influences range across the musical spectrum, starting when he was eight
(with Hendrix - as it does for so many guitar players), moving to Queen
and Def Leppard, jazz legends Coltrane and Eddie Harris, to the Mahavishnu
Orchestra. Then onto Curtis Mayfield, Stevie Wonder, Parliament Funkadelic,
African Dance Drumming, Latin jazz, Cuban Music, Country guitar, Classical
guitar, classical music in general and southern rock. He has also dabbled
in the "speed" arena, with forays into Vai and Satriani's chops.
His love of the genres and exposure to such versatility has enabled him
to slot into almost any musical situation.
Jason Gambill Formative Years:
Jason grew up travelling, moving through Oklahoma, Nebraska, Texas, New
Mexico and Colorado before he was eight. At ten, he picked up his first
guitar...
After high school, Jason moved to Los Angeles, where he studied Music
and 19th-Century Southern History at USC.
