2005: Phil featured as backing vocalist on AJ Croce's new album "Adrian
James Croce" (winner Best Pop Album at San Diego Music Awards. First
single, "Don't Let Me Down" currently in Top 50 charts of Contemporary
Hits Radio).
Sep 2004: Phil completed his third solo CD, Philip Lincoln Smith (2004),
featuring John
DePatie on guitar.
Since 2000, Phil has worked with AJ Croce (pop / blues / alternative rock),
as drummer and occasional vocalist, on regular North American Tours. The
band has shared stages in Australia with Johnny Lang, ZZ Top
and Neil Finn.
In 1988, Phil signed a solo management contract with manager, Dennis Rodriguez,
re-located to Los Angeles and never looked back.
In 1995, Phil's band, Everyday People, had three songs featured in the
film Motel Blue, starring Sean Young. Co-written with Dave Zeman.
Phil Smith formative years:
One of Phil's earliest projects, The Egos, was featured on KLOS FM 95.5.
Another early 80's band, Glow, exposed Phil to television, radio and night
clubs, not to mention the stage at the Montreux International Jazz Festival
in Switzerland. They were voted Best Band in a Major-Market Radio Promotion
with Phil voted one of the Top 5 drummers in Kansas City.
