Born in Hiroshima Japan, Makoto is a California resident who has traveled the world many times over in his professional drumming career.

His recent touring schedule with Gwen Stefani has seen him perform some of the most prestigious venues in the States (including Coors Amphitheatre, MGM Grand, Angel Stadium, Arrowhead Pond) to international venues such as the Top Of The Pops television shows in Germany and London, the San Remo Music Festival in Italy and the Hit Machine in Paris, France.

Throughout his career, Makoto has worked with a stellar cast of musicians (Louis Johnson, Jimmy Earl, David Garfiled, John Beazley, Michael Landau, Dawayne Bailey, Albert Wing, Ed Mann, many others too numerous to mention) and is available for hire for any drumming situation.
