01. Is it beneficial to send Egomania Records my promo package, for any kind of help, if they can provide it?
Is it beneficial? No. Please DO NOT SEND UNSOLICITED MATERIAL to Egomania Records. You would not believe the number of CD's we receive that end up as drink coasters, with their accompanying presskits ending up as funny hats. "Unsolicited" means any CD's, DVD's, cassettes, music links and promo material of any kind that is not requested or endorsed first by a representative of Egomania Records.
If your heart is set on sending out your material - PHONE FIRST. And then follow up your material with a phone call as well.

Let us make it clear to young artists: Not every company that works in the "entertainment industry" can further your career directly. Any help that ANYONE provides to you is a by-product of them exploiting you to make money for themselves, this company included. If we can make money off you, we WILL - and if it helps your career, well, that's not OUR fault...

01-a. Is Egomania Records an indie record label?
No. Egomania Records is a COMPANY NAME for this agency. We are also regarded as a production company.

02. How do I join the Egomania Records agency and get listed online here?
Click here, fill out the Submission Form, and press "Submit" to send the form to us.
OR you can click any of those glowing links at the bottom of the Index pages on this site: "Submit A Listing".
When we receive the Submission Form, Jon Dunmore will contact you within 2 days and discuss the Contractor Agreement with you. This is the Agreement/Contract which all our contractors sign. [View the Agreement.] When you've signed the Agreement, we build you a web page on the Egomania Records site, free of charge, to advertise your services through us.

For those unfamiliar to web design, you don't need to send us the finished "look" of your resume or presskit, and you don't need to have your pictures conform to any specifications. We will see to all that. If you've got no finished "Bio", you can literally send us scribbles on a piece of paper - although, well... don't. A few days later, you're up and running. Then you can refer people to your page if you have no website of your own.
You can also call the office directly, to join: 818-906-8633.

03. These Listings are free - so what is the catch?
There is no catch. (You knew we'd say that, right?) When you join this company, you are required to sign a Contractor Agreement with us. Then, from any work you get through Egomania Records, there is a 10% commission to Egomania Records; which means that only when YOU make money, WE make money. This is not a catch; it is how agencies work. Another "catch" that may worry you is the fact that any Clients you accrue during your signed period with Egomania Records remain Egomania Records clients in perpetuity. Again, no catch; you are getting free advertising and agency support in perpetuity (with no upfront fees) in return for your contractorship.

04. Why can't I put my Listing online myself, on this site?
Our professionalism and service to the public is paramount, as should be the case with all our signed contractors/artisans. Each artisan who wishes to join the company is interviewed by Jon Dunmore, to ensure that they are experienced in their field and prepared to abide by professional protocol, before any Agreements are signed with Egomania Records. This means: no "garage" professionals can infiltrate the upscale element of Egomania Records.

05. Fees for audio and video files?
See our FEES page. The more video and audio we host or stream, the more bandwidth we need to use (not to mention expending labor in posting, editing, maintaining these files) so unfortunately, we do have to charge for that growth.

06. How do I hire someone from this company?
Click the Hire Button next to the person(s) you wish to hire, or call the Egomania Records office (818-906-8633) if your project requires many different Egomania Records services.
You can also send a detailed e-mail and we'll get your project up and and organized as soon as possible.

07. When I choose an artisan (via a Hire Form), am I obligated to hire them?
No, you are not obligated to hire anyone - a Hire Form allows us to put an artisan in touch with you, to discuss your project in detail. You may then choose to hire them, or look for someone else from the Egomania Records company or elsewhere.

08. If I submit a Hire Form, do I owe any money to Egomania Records, even if I do not end up hiring the artisan I choose?
No, you do not owe any money to Egomania Records if you do not hire an artisan. Submitting Hire Forms is merely a first step in our business dealings, not a formal contract of hire.

09. How can I be assured of, and how can Egomania Records guarantee, the quality of all the artisans in the company?
We stand behind the professionalism of all our artisans. In the event of impropriety, or a job badly done, Egomania Records' contract with our Clients guarantees a refund of relevant monies.

10. What are Egomania Records' payment terms/ procedures?
Upon deciding to hire an artisan from Egomania Records, a deposit of half the Agreed Fee is required with the signing of a Hiring Agreement. This deposit is due at least two weeks prior to the start date of your project. The deposit is refundable up to two weeks prior to the start date of your project.
The balance of the Agreed Fee is due two weeks prior to the start date of your project.
[Payment methods for Tutors are different, and outlined in the
Payment Procedures Document, under TUTOR SERVICES.]

Payments are made out to:
Egomania Records
P.O. Box 370069
Reseda CA 91337-0069

Acceptable forms of payment are personal checks, business checks and cash. Credit card payments are acceptable for amounts of $5,000 or over. For credit cards, we bill you through Paypal, so you will require a valid e-mail address.

Due to the nature of this business, there will be many instances where the above time-constraints cannot be met - for example, you need a musician at the last minute for a live show or studio time, so the two-week deadline for deposits becomes obsolete. In instances where the Client and
Egomania Records cannot meet the above criteria, we will agree on payment terms that meet the specific situation and document those conditions in the Hiring Agreement.

For further details, including Cancellation issues, click here for the
Payment Procedures Document.

11. Does Egomania Records manage bands or artists?
No, not in the traditional sense, at least. There is a wealth of accumulated experience at this company, so we can make it easier for artists to understand what they should be aiming for when dealing with the marketplace, and we can produce promotional material for these artists more along the lines of what their recipients are looking for. What we do NOT do is personally oversee an artist's career, vis a vis live appearances, booking agents, distribution, etc. for them.

12. Is Egomania Records involved in marketing bands or artists?
Egomania Records is not a marketing firm - our connection to marketing is in producing material for Clients that is WORTH marketing, be it a CD, video, merchandise line, etc. Although, when we work with any artist, we ascertain what they are trying to achieve and can advise on certain avenues to pursue. Quite simply, we may be able to point you in positive directions even if we are not personally overseeing your product's promotion.
