The Willies: a dramatic mix of intelligent pop and melodious rock. Serious and funny, familiar and fresh, polished and raw, The Willies are masterminded by Damon Pipitone, who helms this unit of creative musicians, carving their beat signature into the languid arm of today's pop culture.

A Willies show provides a smorgasbord of original songs and quirky cover tunes, performed by the band in many incarnations: duo, trio, a tight 6-piece rock combo (which may include harmonica, violin, Latin percussion). The variety and number of musicians spins around the axis of Damon Pipitone, chief instigator and left-field guru, and depends on your event, venue and budget.

Feb 2005: The Willies' new album, Low Ceiling, is released.

Review for Dark Guitar:
"…The Willies’ mastermind Damon Pipitone's dark, cynical, wickedly funny soul gets revealed in every track, and it has a sensual, resonating voice. I was a goner from track one…The dark lyrics often contrast with beautiful music. 'Your Deadbeat' is a good example, (which is) jeering over playful pop/rock. I also like the upbeat, 60s-folky delivery over wickedly jolting lyrics in 'Sometimes Things Just Don’t Work Out'. My favorite tracks are the mystic, cosmic ones. 'Right Wrong' has rippling underwater chords, gorgeous harmonies, and a 60s feel. Trippy, lush, and spiritual. …True to that eclectic, spontaneous nature that keeps me wondering what he’ll do next, Pipitone gives us tracks that may not sound like the others but fire another adrenaline shot to the soul. See him live, west
coast indie fans!
